Leading French architect Dominique Perrault’s first project to be built in the UK has been unveiled in Reigate. The Priory Park Pavilion in Reigate, Surrey, is the centrepiece of a council-run initiative that involves the renovation of historic park. The project has been part funded by a £4.2m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The pavilion contains the park’s information centre, public toilets and a café that is run by a local business. It has a circular plan with floor to ceiling windows and mirror-polished stainless steel columns. The roof is supported by four internal columns, three of which have been clad in fine gypsum.
Perrault’s scheme was the winning entry in an international competition judged by members of the local council, English Heritage and the RIBA.
